internet/modern culture is allowing what these kids have come up with a fighting chance of actually becoming a part of the English language.
I personally prefer using “they” and “them” (mostly because “thon”, while fun, is really obscure and cause more trouble than it solves), but at this point I’ll take anything respectful as a gender-neutral pronoun.

i like this. ‘yo’ feels natural, unlike the space-age plastics of ‘xie’ and ‘thon’ and whatnot. i could get used to ‘yo’.
